Narayanan Krishnan had a good job working in a prominent hotel in Bangalore India. An award winning Chef with a bright future ahead of him, Narayanan was set on a path that would see him reach a level of success that few people in India ever reach.
But all that seemed much less important after what he witnessed in his home town of Bangalore. Something so distressing that he began to question the purpose of his life. As he describes it: “I saw a very old man. He was eating his own human waste for hunger, and I thought what is the purpose of my life?”.
It was that moment in time that would change the course of his life. He went from being a successful chef and having a prestigious career, to devoting his life to feeding and helping the less fortunate, the sick and the mentally disabled.
His purpose was calling him to a life that is meant to serve and to help others. In a world where there is so much hatred, so much animosity and so much intolerance it is a very special gift to meet someone who genuinely wants to make a difference. Someone who is so willing to give of everything they can to help those in need.
Though it may sound cliche, the world is truly a better place because of Narayanan Krishnan. If everyone displayed this kind of generosity and kindness the world would be a much different place than it is today.
Hear his story below and remember: Generosity has the power to change the world.
